Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Urbanfind.app ("UrbanFind", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use the UrbanFind mobile app and the website urbanfind.app (together, the "Service"). UrbanFind is operated by Corey Akins, doing business as Urbanfind.app, in Desoto, Texas, USA.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name, email address and password when you sign up. Passwords are stored in hashed form.
- Profile and content: anything you add to your profile or post in the app, such as event details, descriptions and images that promoters upload.
- Messages to us: what you send when you contact support.
Information collected automatically
- Device and push information: a push notification token, a device identifier created by our push provider, device model, operating system, app version, language and time zone.
- Usage information: how you use the app, such as sessions, screens viewed and whether you open notifications.
- Approximate location: a general location (such as country or city) derived from your IP address. If the app asks to use your device location to show nearby events, we use it only for that, and only if you allow it. You can turn it off in your device settings at any time.
Purchases
Subscriptions and Boosts are paid through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google process your payment; we never see or store your card details. We receive a confirmation of the purchase (product, date and transaction ID) so we can unlock what you bought.
2. How we use information
- To create and run your account, including sending verification codes and password reset emails.
- To show events, deliver features you request and process purchases.
- To send push notifications, such as event reminders and updates. You can turn these off in your device settings.
- To answer support requests and send important notices about the Service.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
- To understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
- To comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or share it with data brokers.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign): sends account emails such as verification codes and password resets.
- OneSignal and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: deliver push notifications.
- Apple and Google: process in-app purchases and app distribution.
- Our hosting and database providers, which store app data on our behalf.
Events and profile details that promoters choose to publish are visible to other users. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.
4. How long we keep information
We keep your account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records (for example, purchase records for tax and accounting) for as long as the law requires.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and edit your profile in the app, or ask us for a copy of your information.
- Deletion: you can delete your account in the app or by following the steps on our Delete Account page.
- Notifications and location: you can turn these off at any time in your device settings.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel them in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription.
Depending on where you live (including Texas, California and other US states), you may have additional rights, such as the right to know, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. To use any of these rights, email info@urbanfind.app. We will respond within 45 days and will not treat you differently for using your rights.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we will let you know in the app or by email.
